History

Family owned restaurant Established in 2012.

“Keeping it in the family.”  Yvonne (Clark) Sabocik’s grandmother owned a restaurant in North Dakota many years ago.  Family recipes have been carried down from generation to generation.  Most of Von’s recipes are German, Slovakian, Polish, and American. At Von’s Victorian Tea Room, you will be treated with good old southern hospitality!

“Where did the name come from?”  Yvonne Sabocik (owner) grew up in Hobart, Indiana.  Her nickname in school was “Von”.  For years, she collected antiques, country, and Victorian décor including tea sets and china.  Being a Realtor and marketing specialist for over 25 years, Yvonne has always dreamed of opening her own bakery and Tea Room just like her grandmother opened her own restaurant in North Dakota.  In October of 2012, “Von’s” dream finally came true.
